REID STATE TECHNICAL COLLEGE

THE COLLEGE THAT WORKS

MMCEDA and the City of Monroeville partnered with Reid State Technical College to develop a much-needed training program that is the first for Alabama. RSTC now provides commercial truck driver certification training through its Instructional Service Center Monroeville Commercial Truck Driving Site. The eight-week course equips students with the knowledge and skills necessary to pursue licensing and work in commercial truck driving within a relatively short period of time. The course is available as a dual enrollment program, making it the state’s first for commercial drivers.

The program is one of approximately a dozen the college offers alongside other course options in adult education and Ready to Work business skills training. RSTC’s main campus is in Evergreen. The college’s service area includes Monroe, Conecuh, and Escambia counties along with portions of Butler, Covington, and Wilcox counties.
